My daughter suggested an earring to symbolize the solitude imposed by this virus - a solidarity in times of sorrow. The bachelor button cornflower became our symbol for this, attributed with protection and healing. In Greek mythology Chiron was attacked with an arrow, but cured by the flower's powerful nectar. If your relationship had a future, a picked cornflower was hidden under the apron or in a pocket. If it was alive the next day, you had a future together.
